bladesandbaits
Hello all. Been a while since I have posted. I first want to say hello and I hope this finds all of you well! I have a question . I was talking to an old friend the other day and he was asking me if I could make him a Jig that he was unable to find on the market. He called it a "wobble head" Jig. He described it as a lead molded on a hook shank and the lead profile was flat and wide and had a keel designed into the bottom of the body. I have searched and come up with nothing - and there,s no better placed to get an answer than here! He says its from back in the day and nothing new. I have searched and found several baits people are calling a "wobble head " but nothing comes close to his description. Any feedback is always appreciated. Regards, Blades
mkvnmtr
The Buzz-keel buzzbait mold by Do-it has a keel. It would not be hard to come out of the front with a straight wire and make a loop to connect the line. It is the only thing I find with a keel. Ogajiga
Interesting design, since it seems like a keel would inhibit wobble?
kelly
When ever any one says wobble head this is the jig that comes to mind. You can find it at cabelas. hook sizes 4, 1, 1/0, 2/0 Head weight 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 hook styles 570, 575 The only problem is I have never seen it with a keel on the bottom of it. Did you ask him to draw a sketch of it? Maybe even give him some putty and make a big copy of it. If your at the lake have him grab some clay mud and mold it. But I do agree with hawnjigs I would think that a keel would fight the wobble. None the less I would love to see what comes up with this project. Good to see your post once again. Salty's
If you said wobble head to me then a wobblehead lure to me is a keeled tin lure that you stretch an eelskin over. Like this: This is normally used in saltwater. Some versions have a fixed hook in them. Hello all. Been a while since I have posted. I first want to say hello and I hope this finds all of you well!
