Sinkorfloatbaitandtackle
Hello all. I have been pouring both Hand pour and injection for a while now. I have a new 6" mold from Do it. I am trying to learn why either 2 out of the four cavities either get an indent or an air pocket? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you
mark poulson
Keep the temps down around 325, and hold pressure for a 10 count.
bryanmc
I had to work on the venting on my 5" do it senko mold

Frank
That looks like air bubbles from the injector. Looks to small of an area to be a dent. Most dent are larger and not as deep. Make sure your injector has enough volume to fill the mold. If it gets close to the end of the volume it will inject bubbles just like that. You could cut the bait in half and see if it a bubble or a dent. Edited July 23, 2017 by Frank
Sinkorfloatbaitandtackle
Definitely isn't an air bubble. I can see air bubbles when those appear. I will see if I can get you better pictures. It has only happened a few times. I have only had this happen with this particular mold all my other molds I use I don't have this problem. I'm going to try to hold it for a bit longer like mentioned. I will update later.
Baitjunkys
Cant always see air bubbles. Cut it in half right there and see if there is a void.
Sinkorfloatbaitandtackle
Would there be any reason it is only happening in the first one and last one? But 2 center ones are good ? Thanks guys. All good information
Baitjunkys
Did you cut it? 90 % of failed baits are gates or vents. Some people have a theroy you can over vent a mold but it simply is not a fact. Burrs can cause wierd things. Lot of variables involved. 90% chance imo you need to file the gate a tad bigger on them. And be sure its nice and smooth.
Sinkorfloatbaitandtackle
I haven't done anything to it. Didn't think of that. As I've never had this issue with any of the other molds . Thank you.
