stein3411
Does anybody have a recipe for the Gene Larew electric blue color they would be willing to share? I'm looking for the electric blue color they discontinued, years ago this thing was completely loaded with flake.
Les Young
I’d try just a little pthalo blue colorant & load it up with flake. I believe that will get you extremely close of it looks like it does on my phone screen. Edited April 6, 2020 by Les Young
Les Young
Possibly even use a very minute drop of black like a pin head or so worth to give it a tad of a smoke look & with the blue colorant & load it up with small blue flake/
stein3411
Thanks Les, I'll give it a try this weekend. I've got lots of time to kill lately with all this craziness. Our state (Washington) has closed all fishing through May 4th.

Man sorry to hear that, but the way people are ignoring our governors executive order to not gather into groups they probably will here too before it's over. Idiots are holding some pretty good sized tournaments even though the governor has specifically said no tournaments.
mark poulson
It only takes a few selfish idiots to ruin things for everyone else. In this case, it might also get a lot of people sick.

McLuvin175
Traditional Electric Blue is Purple loaded with 0.015" Blue Glitter. You'll probably not find that exact shade of purple because it doesn't exist anymore. If you happen to have any of the discontinued Purple 123 from LureWorks thats the color you want. In the alternative if you use 5 drops of Morning Dawn 160 to 4 drops of Violet 193 you will come pretty close. Just keep that 5:4 ratio. Otherwise you'll have to use the purple you have in your inventory.
Les Young
no doubt the original electric blue has a purple base & loaded up with blue glitter it doesn't look anything like the color the op asked about. I like the older version better myself so thanks for the info Josh.
stein3411
Thanks for the information gentlemen. Yes, the color is purple with small blue flake. Gene Larew's version just had more flake in it than Ditto. I still have some of the Ditto Gator Tail's in that color. I'm guessing that they are about 25+ years old.
