SeliNuahsFishes 0 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Anyone have any suggestions as to what to use as a weed deflector when hooks are exposed like this? Quote Link to comment
Fishermawn4life 1 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Best thing to do is bend some wire and form it into a weedguard, take the ends and make a tiny tiny hole and epoxy it to seal it. hope this helps. tight lines! http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1343&bih=607&tbm=isch&tbnid=6z582I-cLL81xM:&imgrefurl=http://www.northlandtackle.com/Category/main.taf%3Fcat%3D317&docid=cRSOTMUNYbVa4M&imgurl=http://www.northlandtackle.com/Sites/north/Image/catimages/Lip-stick-wacky-weedless.png&w=300&h=300&ei=CJVRT8aKMIXuggeyruTFDQ&zoom=1 Quote Link to comment

SeliNuahsFishes 0 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share Thanks for the info, that looks like some pretty fine wire... I guess I could use some guitar wire if I was to go that route. Thanks Quote Link to comment
bassassassin85 12 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Share i would be cautious with guitar wire i play guitar and some of the strings i have seen have corroded over time and became very brittle you might have to go stainless steel or something protected. A thought come to mind like the titanium weed guards on a terminator jig possibly? Quote Link to comment
RayburnGuy 1,383 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Share What about using the fiber weed guards like those that are found on jigs? Drill two small holes in front of the hooks, epoxy in the fiber guards and it's ready to fish. Nice job by the way. Quote Link to comment
