no not really ( i think i put something like 10g just to balance the action) the wood it self of pretty heavy and of course im gonna pair it out with pretty big hooks too so that balances things. there is a Finnish lure called karikko that has similar swimming lip line tie set up like this one has so it should work pretty nicely
