Jerk Bait?

you will notice the belly hook is missing...I have no idea if this will work, but I plan on leaving a 12" leader tied on the back with a circle hook and live shrimp. Thinking the POP will attract the trout and the shrimp will be the "bite' :-)

are you using it as a popping cork type lure(attractor) or a swimming type lure?or a little of both? your getting the hang of it looks like it should work

Thanks Crank! It does a pop and splash and shoot right or left depending on the twitch of the rod so I guess a popper. i figured I'd try to combine the power of topwater and live bait into one...LOL...I used the angle from your drawing and it works like a charm for the lip.
