Flat Shad diving crank
The "Flat Shad" is one of the first styles of baits I ever attempted and casts and trolls very well. Easy to tune, trolls very well at speed.
This one is about 5 inches long, unweighted, cut from poplar.
If anyone wants the pattern for this style of bait, shoot me a pm with your email. The Flat Shad is one of the "go to" baits for my friends and me and it catches muskies about as consistently as anything we throw in the water.
This one is in Tennessee shad pattern and I know it isn't fancy, but it is a very very good producer for muskies on all the waters we fish here in Ohio.
Paint the body white, then shoot some pearl over the white. Next paint the back gold and the gill plate gold and trim off the back and gill plate with a bit of black scaling effects and some gold pearl. Nothing to it. Try it, you'll like it.!
