Nice baits. Just curious, how does the cypress compare to Balsa? Buoyancy, strength and how easy is it to work with?

Thanks John. Cypress is harder than balsa but softer than pine. It is very buoyant and works well with power tools. I tore up several balsa baits when I was starting out. Also cypress is moisture stable. Back in the old days cypress was a common material used for boats and duck decoys here in louisiana.
