That's beautiful.  Nice work.  I like your paint shades.  I think it will fool them too.  In the pic it looks like the rear hook hangar is heavier gage than the lip tie or bottom hangar.  Won't hurt the fish'n just curious.

Thanks Barry and good eye. I use a heavier gauge in the rear for added insurance that the hook won't pull out. With the way most guys like to land fish these days you have to have strong anchors.

You captured the 'look."    Plus, that little piece of gill sticking out adds a nice touch.

 

 You put time in on a creation and get good results.

Are the front two wire loops one assembly or are they seperate? What is your technique for getting your tie off loop recessed into your diving lip? thanks

MarkNY 1st question- They are separate at first. See the channels that I machine for each are connected. This allows me to fill both channels with epoxy all the way thru the bait, from the belly weight anchor out to the front anchor. So when it's dry they become one assembly. So far it's been a very strong and reliable way to construct. Hopefully that made sense.

MarkNY 2nd question- I bend the line tie in such a fashion as to go thru two small holes that I've drilled to accommodate the wires. The holes are drilled on center, very close together, and just a little smaller than the wire dia. Once the wire is pressed thru the lip it is supported very well. This will help keep your bait in tune. Hope fully that also makes sense.
