All Eyes 284 Posted April 30, 2017 Report Share Thanks Mark. It's transparent green over gold foil. Quote Link to comment
All Eyes 284 Posted May 7, 2017 Report Share Thanks CNC- I give them at least 2 top coats of epoxy. More on the larger musky/pike baits. Quote Link to comment
fshng2 129 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) Report Share I'm liking the scales they have a realistic look, do you emboss the foil? Edited May 8, 2017 by fshng2 Quote Link to comment
All Eyes 284 Posted May 8, 2017 Report Share Thank you fshng2- Yes, the scales are done by pressing the foil onto a wire mesh. Quote Link to comment

I imagine the scales in your lure reflect light the same way as a real baitfish does. This reflective light can be observed when an actual baitfish makes a sudden swerving, or side to side motion. When you see an actual baitfish do this you instantly notice, and so does the predator fish! Quote Link to comment

Yes, the light reflects on the highest point and cast a shadow in the lowest, which catches the eye at any angle. Foil can bring life to a bait. It's a tedious process, although a rewarding one. Thanks for the interest! Quote Link to comment

I can spot your baits a mile down the road regardless of the paint scheme. It's hard to put a finger on it, but there is a level of refinement or a certain clean look that gives yours away. At first glance, it's obvious that a lot of time and skill went into them. Quote Link to comment
