sthone 6 Posted February 23, 2019 (edited) Report Share This is a 3D printed articulated snake lure I designed. It is about 12" in length but can be made to any desired length. It was airbrushed in a Northern Water Snake pattern. Edited February 23, 2019 by sthone Quote Link to comment

sthone 6 Posted February 23, 2019 Report Share Thanks... No video yet everything been pretty frozen here lately. I've only had it in the tub so far but it looked promising. Quote Link to comment

Kayak Basser 2 Posted February 24, 2019 Report Share Yeah that is really cool. I wanted to get a 3d printer and start doing that but I thought the lures would break 3d printing material seems too flimsy for lures. But I'm sure there are tougher materials you can use. Also the Contest Rules say you can do multiple pictures in a collage like you did, how do you do that? Quote Link to comment
sthone 6 Posted February 24, 2019 Report Share I just made the collage by stitching the photos together in Photoshop. As for 3D printing as long as you design the lures with printing in mind they are plenty strong. I've done a whole bunch of different lures if you are interested you can see more of my stuff here... https://www.theneverendingprojectslist.com/fishingprojects/ Quote Link to comment
Kayak Basser 2 Posted February 26, 2019 Report Share Those other things look really neat! What 3d printer do you have? Do you sell the lures you make? Quote Link to comment
sthone 6 Posted February 26, 2019 Report Share I use Makergear M2's. They are on the higher end (price wise) of consumer 3D printers but there are some good cheaper printers out there too if you want to get into 3d printing. As for my lures I do not sell them... they take too much time to print, assemble, and paint for them to be worth selling (in my opinion) so I just make them for myself. Quote Link to comment
Chuck Young 407 Posted August 16, 2019 Report Share Those things used to scare the dickens out of me when I was a kid. I can remember 15 of them confronting me at amy favorite fishing hole. They stand up in the water and wave back and forth like aquatic cobras. Great job on the lure. But it still freaks me out a little. Quote Link to comment
