jointed lures

The bass has a 7" hard body, and I stole the 2" plastic tail to use on the 9" five piece trout at the bottom. That trout swims great, so it's in the garage now being painted.

The four piece trout doesn't swim at higher speeds, so I'm trying something different with it today.

Great lure, I gave it 5 Stars.. Is it wood or a hard plastic body you poured by mold yourself?.. Looks like wood grain on the sides.. Just curious.. Reminds me of the 22nd Century Triple Trout, especially w/the tail.. Sure would like to find someone on here capable of making tails like that !..

Sweet work..

I'm sorry to take so long to answer you guys. That trout is actually a 12" lure, and weighs over 4 ozs. It's a bear to throw, but it swims great, fast or slow.

It's made from poplar, with cotter pin and stainless steel wire hinges.

The tail is an actual Triple Trout replacement tail, which I bought from Performance Tackle in Long Beach, CA. I buy them over the phone with a credit card, and they ship UPS, if I remember correctly. Their phone number is (714) 826-1400. They are way back ordered now, and don't have a clue when they'll have more. The Triple Trout is really popular, and the tails are in demand.

I'll post a picture of the finished lure as soon as I can.
