Been a long time since I made a lure just for fun so I decided to go back to how I started. A simple lipless swimmer hand carved from cedar. When I started making lures I made nothing but lipless designs but a large variety of them 

something a little different then what is normally posted here anyway 

Dude, this looks really neat!  I've seen and done some sort of like this on a lathe, but you carved it all out?

All hand carved I don’t own a lathe. Can’t tell by the angle of the pic but lathe would not work for this one. At one point I probably hand carved around 10 lipless lures of all different types a day. Just carved and tested whatever came into my head. It’s how I learned a lot of what I know regarding action. This was kind of revisiting my roots in lure making 

I will likely take it pike fishing during my days off

Thanks did not get the chance to fish it do to boat and truck repairs. I will give it a go my next set off work

fish loves to live near things that cost lures lol.does it moves well?

Wide wiggle and dove to about 4-5ft on a steady retrieve. On a twitch style retrieve about 2-3ft

I have faith it would have gotten bit if I did not snag it up so fast

Slightly tighter but similar yet different if that makes any sense lol
