Lure--Prof 12 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share Yeah, like you invented red metalflake gills Vince. I don't know how you found out, but I was doing red metalflake gills 5 years ago. I'm sure there are those out there who don't think this is a personal attack on my lure-building cred, but we (me and the rest of my personalities) know better. Other than the veiled personal dig at me via the 13 red flakes on each gill, it looks fantastic! Nice touch on that fade job with that pain-in-the-rear holographic foil, once again . You da man! fatfingers 90 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share How dare you take credit for the application of metal flake, Dean. I was born with metal flake fingernails. When I sneeze metal flake comes out my nose. I have metal flake dandruff...that's right, buddy, metal flake dandruff! Its silver and blue as a matter of fact. I incorporated metal flake into the custom paint jobs on did on my Schwinn in the 50's. By the time I hit puberty, I was approached by the likes of Big Daddy Roth and other Hot Rod freaks for tips and how-to lessons. I even have metal flake fantasies. Don't even go there. Thanks for the kind words. Quote Link to comment
Lure--Prof 12 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share  Easy there Vince...You can keep your metalflake, and (especially) your metalflake fantasies...(even though I DID give it to Von Dutch and he gave it to The Rat Fink Man when he couldn't pinstripe with it.) I also saw the waves at La Bufadora, just south of Ensenada turn into showers of metalflake as they crashed against the cliffs beneath a full moon one night many years ago, and I always assumed that that is where metalflake came from originally; then was smuggled across the border by planes that made clandestine drops in the Arizona desert. It all seemed real enough at the time...and then was a series of Lure Visions, but that's another story. So you just continue to metalflake away on those gills, and everything will be okay under the sun! Bass seem to really like the red flake gills BTW... Dean Quote Link to comment
Yake Bait 10 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Share Nice lure. I really like the foil, is it holographic? Allows you to get a great scale effect without the need to apply a scale mesh. As usual the paint is top notch too. Quote Link to comment
