"Curiosity"
These are some of my very early wooden lures . I made them after book pictures exclusively , didn't have any other means or advice .
After I mailordered "Old Fishing Lures & Tackle" , by Carl F. Luckey , and later "The Book Of Lures" , by Charles K. Fox , I was just very curious about all those lures of "yesteryear" , and I started out to make copies of some of those lures , that were pictured in a way , that provided enough visual information to shape them .
Didn't intend to exactly resemble those old lures , I was just curious about how they would act in the water and wether they would catch fish .
Off course no original lure ever got to my hands , lure-collecting over here is not that widely spread as it is in the USA , and I doubt , wether there are even a lot of those American vintage lures around over here .
Only once saw a pic of a local late 1920's catalog , in which some "Heddon's" were offered .
Well , my efforts about those vintage lure copies payed off later , because two or three of my model copies turned out to be great catchers over here(not pictured here , but previously in the gallery) , I might not want to ever miss them;) !
Shown here are variations of the "Game Fisher " , "Swimming Mouse" , "Wiggle Fish" and "Bomber"("Kreeker") .
