Version of a "SwimWhizz"

Made this one last year , fished it today for the first time . Sadly no fish taken(extremly slow day , as too often over here:(:() , but it runs pretty nice .

Lure floats at rest and goes down to max. 3 feet , has a little trim weight in its belly , in front of belly hook .

Carved out of abachewood , 3 4/5" in length , it sports a line tie like described here in the gallery under "Line Tie Construction In Progress" .

The rear hook eyelet is rigged in a "cotterpin manner" , but with the two wire ends epoxied into grooves on the back portion of lure , prior to painting .

The belly eye wire form is bent by coiling one tag end around the other(roughly like a screweye) and fit in snugly into its hole , thoroughly epoxied .

I tested this eyelet-rig before on a scrap-piece , tried to pull it out in alignement to its shank by means of fishing-scales , at 45lbs. the cord inbetween snapped , the sudden release also spoilt my scales .

But the wire form eyelet didn't pull out a bit !
