Anyone know who made this one?

I've got a buddy that is really into the antique lure thing. He purchased some at a yard sale the other day and got a few really old creek chubs and heddons, well he had a couple of these also. I couldn't tell him anything, I've never seen one. I don't know if those diamonds were added or if it was made like that.

Could be a Dalton Special made by Florida fishing tackle company/ Barracuda brand or Dandy lure. Really hard to say several companies made a lure that is very similiar Shakespeare made a lure very much like the one you have picture

Yep, that sure looks like the one. I cant seem to find any with the gems in them though. Also all the ones I see have a stamp saying florida bait co. This one doesnt!

I have a lure collectors book in front of me , there are two "Dalton Specials" shown there , also in a belly view .

One by "Shakespeare" and one by the "Florida Fishing Tackle Company" . The "FFTC" has hookhangers as shown here , the other has screweyes and recessed washers . None has those diamonds !

The "FFTC" has a cup washer under its tow eye , the other doesn't . Both are stenciled with their model name on the belly .

The lure shown here obviously has a slight cupping of its face , the ones in the book don't , its clear to be seen !

I assume , that this lure here is either an accurate homemade copy , or a souped-up "FFTC" lure , with those diamonds and face cupping added , repainted and the tow eye screwed back in place without the cup washer underneath .

All I can say from a distance and without too much knowledge on the subject ! Greetz , diemai
