It's a nice lure , that you've achieved , don't give up upon it !

Try using harder woods , that can hold screweyes !

This would minor your work effort quite a bit , since you won't have to rig all connections thru-wired .

And when making non-permanent hinges between the sections , you might as well paint them one by one , prior to the final assembly !

Nice bait! I agree they're a PITA to make. I swear "never again" after every one But in the end the extra work is worth it to get that snakey action that fish love.

it does look really good. I would suggest basswood or poplar. It isnt to hard to shape and will hold screws a lot better.
