small swimbait

My first and last try at the swimbait. 6 inches long and weighes 1.25oz made from balsa. It has the coolest action and will just crawl across the surface. What a pain in the butt to make.

It's a nice lure , that you've achieved , don't give up upon it !

Try using harder woods , that can hold screweyes !

This would minor your work effort quite a bit , since you won't have to rig all connections thru-wired .

And when making non-permanent hinges between the sections , you might as well paint them one by one , prior to the final assembly !

Nice bait! I agree they're a PITA to make. I swear "never again" after every one :) But in the end the extra work is worth it to get that snakey action that fish love.
