saved lure success

This is the final version of the bluegill glider that didn't glide. It wallowed.

So I cut down it's overall height, lightened it, added a bill, primed it, and took it to the pond.

It still rolled a lot, so I cut 1/8" off the bill, and now it works.

At slow and med. retrieves, it wakes, and swims.

At fast retrieves and if I burn it, it runs 6" deep, and swims great. It only rolls a little. :yeah:

Thanks to both of you.

I'm just happy to have been able to save a lure that "didn't work".

I airbrushed the basic colors with a scale pattern, but then I tried to use stencils to get the head details, and the results were too sharp and hard for me. And I couldn't figure out how to get the bars on the sides without losing too much scale detail, so, thanks to Dieter's example, I broke out a paint brush.

I think I got over ambitious, but it won't matter to the fish! :o)
