Swim/Crank-Bait (first baits)

When I joined this list a couple months ago, swim-baits were all everyone was talking about. I decided to take a run it.

It was a tedious endeavor but rewarding. I fish Mille Lacs in Minnesota quite a bit and in the fall the toothy critters really move on the cisco.

From lip-to-tail this one measures in at 10".

Nice action, but the last section could have been spaced by maybe an 1/8" more. I still get action on it but would like a little more. Overall, good action and runs about 4" deep. I need to built a deeper runner for the late season.

Paint is silver pearl with light hit of blue/purple along it's back.

I've always built stuff, just never lures. Well 30 years ago I made a couple but that was me and any 'ol chunk of wood and a pocket knife. Thanks though Diemai. I have a couple that look just like a few of yours in the hopper. Thanks for the help on the thru-wire question the other day.

It is true, I like the Storm series but dislike having the back side tore off so easily.

I haven't thrown this one yet but look forward to spring when the waters open up.
