my first lure

This is my first lure that i ever built. I made it in one night and the paint job consist of black and white fingernail paint. I did not think that this thing would ever catch a fish. To my surprise the next day my dad i went to the lake and i decided to test the lure. Within 10 cast a wiper (hybrid striper) just demolished the thing. The fish really wasnt a big one, 3-4 pounds. I thought that this was just luck all day i caught fish on it. My biggest was about 6 lbs. I retired the lure because i was afriad that i was going to lose it.

Thanks to this lure i have been making lures non-stop, kinda of like an addiction this is.

Though these "first ones to catch" most likely do not look like something , that fish would eat , and especially not like something , that we are too proud of , yet they are the true gems in our lure armoury , and you did well to retire it for the memories sake !

That gives support to the old saying that action catches fish, and paint jobs catch fishermen.

Congratulations, and smart move to retire it before it gets lost.

My partner just hung my first glide bait on a buoy rope from shore, and had to bust it off.

I've alerted some friends, who are going to try and retrieve it. Fingers crossed.
