Proven spoons , newly made !
Here is a bunch of my home-designed spoon , that I have named "DinnerBell" . Its approx. 2 1/2" in length .
Back in April this year I have uploaded some earlier models of this type , a thorough describtion may be read in that post .
Made these new ones recently in terms of a "how to tutorial" for a German site out of copper , brass and SSt sheet .
The making of these spoons does not require curved cuts to shape the blank , also no concave/convexe cupping with a ballpeen hammer neccessary , just bending over the edges of a vise .
The rear wireharness with its metal beads rigged acts like the club inside a bell and generates a clicking noise on retrieve , also it balances the lure very well on flight whilst casting , so that the lure can be cast incredibly far out on spinning gear with a thinner braid , even against stronger winds(saw it climbing up on ocassion like a launching jetplane) .
These spoons rise off the bottom quite fast , to fish them deeper , one has to let them drop back to bottom frequently , the hook would then fall inside the spoons cupping with its hookpoints pointing to the rear .
I fished this model frequently during the past weeks from the banks of the shallow "Alster" lake in Hamburg's inner city/Germany .
I had lost two different commercial spoons and two minnow crankbaits in there to snags , but my "DinnerBell" has produced a few smaller pike and a trophy perch of 16"(sorry about the bad picture , but I was alone , nobody to take me with the fish) , and not even a single bad snag occured:) !
