Snobby Rainbow! New Design for 09

Had this carved for sometime.. never really like the head... kinda looks like a dolphin fish! love the action in the tank.. 5 inches in length about 5 oz.. runs about 4 to 6 feet.. best guess..

I do like it's grim look !

Nice lure , well done ! Interesting to see your signature on it's lip , did you just scrape it in with a needle or similar:huh: ?

I like the head/look of this bait. I wouldn't have guessed it weighs 5 oz., it looks like it would be lighter. Does this little snob float, suspend or sink? Nice work.

It looks good. Great paint job.

What do you carve it from, wood or plastic?

And how do you do your black trout dots? I do mine with a drill bit, dipped in paint, and it takes forever.

Mark.. Stencil.. I just make different sizes and different holes.. I basically drill out the holes and move my hand around while I drill them with a dremel.. I dont lay the stencil all over the bait and just spary one time.. I move it all around the bait and just use certain parts of the stencil. It still takes me a while to paint the dots.. because you have to keep the stencil cleaned off each time you move it around or you will get paint on the bait as you slide it around.. I keep a napkin or paper towel handy and wipe off the overspary.. a clean stenicl is the key.. Dont worry if your holes arent exactly round.. spots on a trout arent exactly round.. make all kinds of different shapes... you will be impressed with the look when your done! Show me a picture of yours if you try it! Good luck.

Nice job Matt!! You just get more streamlined all the time!! good colors too!

That's where those transparent plastic stencils really show their worth because you have to see exactly where you're shooting--you can keep a damp rag handy, wear a disposible on your stencil holding hand, and move right along.
