My First Swimbait Repaint

Here is a baby bass pattern I did on a Magic Swimmer. Painting it wasn't so bad, but clearcoating was a :censored:... If any one has tips on applying clearcoat (I use DN) to the inside of the joints, I'd appreciate it.

J, I use DN and when I clear one of my swimbaits I have it on the same holder I use to paint (a hacksaw frame) and I carefully use a small brush to get into the joints without getting any on the metal. I then transfer bait to the turner with enough pull pressure on ends of bait to keep it straight so that the joints do not close. This sounds tedious and somewhat complicated, but it really isn't. I manage it so it can't be that tough :teef:. Hope this helps you out.

PS nice paint job.

David- thanks for the info. I ran across your hacksaw idea on another thread and will definitely give that a shot. I'm going to try using a smaller, thinner brush than the one I have been using, so hopefully that, and taking my time, will give me some better results. Thanks again.
