I suppose , that you rig the line straight thru with a small bead to protect the knot holding the hook at the rear ?

I assume , that the lip has to be set at accurate angle , otherwise the lures might get to spin , also alone the weight of the lip must provide the lure to remain in an upright swimming position ?

Anyway , really , really........outside the box:yes: !

diemai - Yes, just a bead and treble hook and a line stopper at the front, so the line does not fall through. Hang it on a horizontal fishing line, add a small split shot through the front hole and epoxy it where the bottom centre is, this is enough to keep them stable, if not there are a few other tricks. pete

Pete, was there any bubbly involved when you thought of these? I might have to make one just to see if I can catch a fish on it.

Cool idea,Ive used those doll bubble eyes before,look cool with lots of action but unfortunately not very long lasting.I tried them on jigs before.

Thanks guys, but I sometimes think this is all a symptom of a bored mind!!

I was wading through the dross in the shed the other day, and came across one of these (extreme left of pic) unpainted floats,which I made probably 10 years back. I am going to the coast in a couple of weeks to try and catch some Silver/Black Bream, and these looked like just the right size for these cunning, dirtiest fighting fish around here. They like small lures, and the ideal is some of the Japanese makes, but they can cost from$15 to $25 ea I went and bought 10 floats, made up a jig to cut the lip slots and knocked them up in an afternoon, without all the carving hassles of a small lures.

The brown lure on the extreme left is the original, these tend to split around the plug hole, but the other type shown here are much better made, although more expensive (2 for $1.20). I might try and make a how to and post it, the jig for the lip slot is about the only moderately 'complicated' part. pete
