RiverMan 12 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Share I have found it is very tricky to get plastic versions to swim right..............good luck. Quote Link to comment
Snax 1 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Share With the featherlite being buoyant already it has similar properties to the wood i've used. It's less dense than oak and the oak gliders worked well. As long as the ballast and shape is the same they will be fine. Quote Link to comment
RiverMan 12 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Share I hope you can get it to work well for you. I have tried several times over the years to build molded versions just as you are going to do and although they would work "ok" I never could get one to swim as well as my wood versions. I really don't know why this is because as you have said the shape and buoyancy are very similar and yet I just couldn't get them to work as well. Please let me know if it works out good for you. jed Quote Link to comment
