First Trout attempt

First attempt at painting a Trout. Used silicone pastry brush to make the spots. Thru wired Balsa Wood. Cut slot in belly using hacksaw fitted with two blades turned upsidedown and hacksaw frame clamped in vise , 2 grams of belly weight (flattened sinkers) on each side of hook hanger. Runs about 1 foot deep and really wags its tail.

Nice looking trout. Good paint scheme, and detailing.

I'm going to mix up some of your leaf green/black paint and try it out.

You might try what I use, and see if it works for you, too.

I use apple barrel mossy green, and a couple drops of transparent dark brown.

Then I spray a light coat of trans. dark brown over the back.

Thanks for the compliments. I made this as a gift for a 15 year old who hooked a big trout on a jerk bait and it got away right at the boat also lost his lure. It was his first big trout. His dad is taking him back to try for another big one. I hope he catches it on my bait. Diemai, the lip came from jann's netcraft. I shortened it about 1/4 inch.

By the way, the pink on this lure is createx white pearl with a couple of drops of createx flourescent pink. I know somme don't agree with this but both the green and the pink were thinned with blue windex
