bbduc 11 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Like the chunky look. Healthy. That smokey paint technique on the sides is killer. Quote Link to comment
diemai 234 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Your amber paint design once more is outstanding:yes: ! What were your reasons to scale down the hooks towards the tail ? greetz , diemai:yay: Quote Link to comment
fatfingers 90 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Thanks, diemai. If you think about it, there is no reason to not scale the hooks down. As the bait tapers toward the tail the hooks actually become oversized for the area if you do not scale them down. By keeping the heavier hooks forward, the bait has more weight near the belly and less near the tail, thus stabilizing the bait when trolling at speed and at the same time, you are adding no more weight than needed (which would dampen the action of the bait at high speed). diemai 234 Posted April 26, 2009 Report Share Thanks for info , ......that is exactly what I had assumed to be the reason , but I could not quite imagine , that it would make sucha difference on a bait of that large size ,........but it surely would on a still smaller one;) ! greetz:yay: , diemai Quote Link to comment
fatfingers 90 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Share Even on the larger baits, the heavier hook weight can add up to make an overall difference in the action. Some guys don't even like baits with split rings because they feel the hooks swing too far and prohibit the bait from achieving the maximum speed while trolling. Its all pretty interesting stuff, isn't it? Quote Link to comment
