First swimbait I've ever build. AND maybe the last one too. I really didn't enjoy at all the connectiong of the parts.

I hear you on the tedious connections. Can be a real pain in the backside. This bait turned out nice though. I like the look and the solid orange tail, works well.

Nice bait. You are right, It isn't easy installing and making everything line up square and straight on these small baits. Bit the end result is well worth the effort and it looks like you did a very good job of it. That lip willl really enhance the action of it also. What material did you use to make it Wish I could see how you had it hinged. Good job.

That looks great. Nice paint job, too. Certainly doesn't look like a first time lure!

It should really swim well with that bill.

I hear you about the pain involved in hinging. That's why I settled on screw eyes and hinge pins. Simple, easy to adjust, and they swim really well.

I am lazy.

I didn't start out to reinvent the wheel, just adapt whatever worked to make lures that work, as quickly and easily, and reliably, as possible.

Don't give up now. you have accomplished what many have tried & only failed at. Keep at it & it will get some what easier. I too, feel your pain, mostly in my finger tips. Your lure looks great. Keep up the hard work. Remember, if this was easy, everyone would do it. :yay:

Ha-ha, thanks Vodkaman and all other as well!

I had my reasons to publish only that pic above, the lacque flow a little there is some dried drops of lacque in the edge of the parts.

I used one old blank (don't know what wood it was, maybe alder) for the swimbait. I just shape it it more befor cutting it to the parts.

Now I also know what I did wrong; I used little too much lead for weightning, that's why it doesn't wobble without lip. I was still surprised how nice it swam when I put that lip on it!

Well, maybe I have to build other one later. A more little one. I'm sure that would be also easier to build, ha-ha!

Here's few more pic's of the lure:
