The flyer that came with the original lure states that Mr. Hildreth patterned this lure after a bug he discovered while fishing in Mexico! Must have been a wicked looking bug! The flyer also says that "if the bass don't bite it, they'll fight it". And this must be true because one of the bass that I caught with this lure was only about three times as long as the lure so I don't think he was planning on eating it. LOL
