10" Glide Bait - Cisco profile, Canadian Crush Paint

Yake Bait

Originally this was to be my first attempt at a foil bait but I botched the paint job on the first coat of epoxy. Couldn't wipe the paint off because there were a few tacky spots on the bait that did not wipe clean. I had done this same Canadian Crush paint job (borrowed from Phantom Lures) on a bait that I made for a buddy and have been looking for an opportunity to do it again so I figured that this may be a way to salvage this bait.

Thanks guys. Action is much like the big Dunwright Dancer, soft taps send it side to side and a wiggle as it sinks on the pause. I love the funny looks you get when you wheel up to a dock with a huge bait to make some casts and do some testing then drive off. A guy was walking his dog and kind of watching me out of the corner of his eye while I sent this bait for a swim this afternoon.

Pete,

Do you have any concerns about casting muskie baits off a pier when it's out of season? I'm not trying to be a jerk, really. I think about doing the same thing for the pure sake of testing but I worry that it may look suspicious if the game warden shows up. I'm assumng you're testing with hooks on the bait, right?

Thanks for the complements guys,

Waterlogged, I do worry a bit about throwing big lures out of musky season but I don't spend more than 5 minutes testing it out. If I had to explain to the DNR that I am just testing a lure that I made, I don't think that would be too big of a deal. I do test with hooks as they do impact the action. At my stage in lure making where I am learning new things all the time, it is really important to get the feedback on the final product. Makes it helpful in what to try next.
