dampeoples 12 Posted May 14, 2007 Report Share That's killer looking Bob, but I can't see it that clearly from Wake Forest Quote Link to comment
Esoteric 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Share Really like the colour pattern on this one Bob. Sometimes less is more. Good looking lure! Quote Link to comment
scoop10 1 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Share that's a pretty bait, Bob. Have you ever done anything on these wake baits? Having read about FLW guys catching some, I'm real curious about when and under what conditions to use these baits. Quote Link to comment
willie525 10 Posted May 19, 2007 Report Share do you have a video of it swimming? scoop10, around here in march snowing me and my dad were working a tournament and the winners caught them on a bomber long a waking it on the surface. big jointed swimbaits like these are good for that. BobP 1,379 Posted May 20, 2007 Report Share Wakebaits are BIG on some S.E. lakes like Beaver in Ark and a friend there sent me a Strike King King Shad to paint for the current FLW Tx (he came in 2nd on the coangler side). Don't know if he used it but most of the contenders were catching 90% of their fish early morning on topwaters. As long as I was painting, I decided to build one in the same pattern for myself. Of course, mine doesn't have the custom hinge of the King Shad but it does swim very nicely and wakes easily. My Ark. buddy also wakes Bomber 15A's and catches tons of fish on them but complains about how hard they are to cast and retrieve properly. The classic wakebait situation is clear(ish) water, low light, preferably with shad present, during the post spawn period. Sorry, no video! Quote Link to comment
