Yake Bait
 Share

I wanted a very bouyant twitch bait for working through shallow weeds so I whipped this together this afternoon very quickly. My epoxy was gelled pretty good so I thought it would be a great idea to cure it fast so I can use it this afternoon. My brilliant idea of turning the oven on warm with the door open to quickly harden the epoxy worked brilliantly except for the bubble rash that appeared all over the bait

The bait works great, just looks rough. Will make remake a new one after doing some field testing this afternoon! To accomodate the large eyes I used my 1/2" forstner bit to countersink the eyes flush into the bait. Turned out slick until I bubbled it up!

Specs are as follows:

8" cedar plug, 3/4" thick

3/4 oz lead just behind the front hook.

1/8" lexan lip, 2 1/9" long by 1 1/8" wide.

Canadian Crush paint job

3/0 Mustad hooks
