My new weedless bait

Hello gang here is a sneak peek at a new weedless bait I have been working on. This bait is still in the works. I am tweaking the bait a bit more to get a little better tail action. This bait swims true with a weighted 8/0 wide gap hook. Let me know what you guys think. Till next time

Thanks Jim on the comment. Still working hard on the baits. I left just a little to much material in the back end of this bait. It still swims great but it wants to spiral on the drop. The fix will be to thin out the material and the spiral should go away. I am still learning with every bait I make but in due time if I keep at it I know I will have a few baits that can and will make a difference once fished. Thanks again Jim.

Phil thank you for the nice comment. I am just a rookie at this bait making thing. But I am getting a better understanding on how these things swim. I carve all my own baits with a bake clay called Sculpey. After forming each bait I make RTV Silicone molds and hand pour each bait with pyrex cups. Again I ain't no pro at this but if you need any help when you get started shoot me a message and I will do my best to help out. This is a great site. There are many pro lure makers on here and there works of art are inspiring.

Well Phil thanks again for the comment and I wish you the best of luck.

Great looking baits...what length? I have carved an original design big swimbait ( a fat 5 1/2") and have failed on tail design twice. They didn't swim at slow speed well enough. I think my mistake was a combination of not enough tail depth and too thick on the approach. I'm going to make another this winter. Good luck.
