"Ivory Billed Woodpecker"

Here's the fixed hook lure that I posted in bare wood awhile back. Decided to go for the vintage look (who'd have guessed, :D) The fixed double hooks are made from trebles with one point cut off and straightened out slightly so it can be epoxied into a hole while the eyes get a screw and washer. Copper tail flasher adds some glimmer while the double line ties will give me two shots at a good running lure, LOL, and the ivroy beak has a heavy dose of glow in the dark varnish.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. And yes, I do use them but not always with good results, LOL. Since 2003 I have fished with nothing except lures I've made. Now for the bad news, I work way too much and have way too many irons in the fire, therefore my fishing time is sometimes very slim. Such was the case last summer when I only got to go twice for a total of about three hours  . Still made several lures though between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 AM, LOL.

Here's a little guy I snatched out of the tree tops at Stonewall Jackson Lake on a "Wonder Bug" replica. (keep in mind any time you take the camera the fish will be small, LOL) http://www.yourimagehost.com/is.php?i=139686&img=stonewall_lake__7-24-05.jpg.JPG For those not familiar with the original Wonder Bugs they were hand made by Mike Hildreth in the early 60's and were pretty successful. I currently have four of these in the works with different weight placements to experiment with. The originals were unweighted and seem a little light. Maybe I'll get to fish a little more this summer than last. Wish me luck.
