How did you get that scale effect?

i roll the pattern on. i have a cheap ratchet tool that Ive had since 7th grade and the only thing I use it for is to roll foil. Ive tried several other tool handles, tool bits, etc. the hardest part is finding a pattern that wont shred your foil when you roll it. fyi, you need to clear coat over the foil before you paint. the paint just scatters on raw foil and you risk ruining your scale pattern w/out the protective coating)

Nice job Amac!! I have painted a few baits with that type of foiling. Its a pretty tough job getting the foil to look right, you done well with it!!
