don't despair mate heh even i was not really "that" spectacular when i started painting, its just a matter of having a touch of madness and a good imagination + a lot of practice.

well cant say that i've done many of those, i've done much smaller lures though for white fish and perch, they were really small if i remember it correctly they were 3.5mm long. but yeah since i mostly fish for pike my lures tend to be longer and bigger than what you would use for perch.

Yeah I gotta say, I really like this paint job. and yes, as said before, nice paint on all your lures. I have not ever tried airbrush at all, except one day in some art class in high school twenty some years ago. I remember air brush not being easy. I was always better with a brush, so that's all I've done so far...but I've been thinking of getting an airbrush set-up, for the variety and challenge.
