Riverman Put your slot in while the stock is still square. Trace your pattern and then cut the shape out. Another way to cut a slot is with a radial arm saw if you have one. Raise the blade, lower it onto the stock and slide the stock to get the desired length. Suppose a table saw will also work but you will be working blind.1 point
