Has anyone ever mixed any E-Tex and Mixol dye. I tried and it made a nice base paint and first sealer.

Most everything I shoot is lacquer based thinned with acetone or lac thinner... One thing no one mentioned is buying a big can of a quality clear lacquer, thin down to spray through your airbrush, and then possibilities are unlimited... I use auto or worm pouring pearls,powder pigments and metalic powders, micro glitters and flip flops... mix them into the clear, as well as any tints or dyes, like worm or lure dye, even Ritt dye to get great trans colors. Once you get comfortable with the system, you can even mix in other paints and pigments to hot lacquers with good results... Enamels actually work well to pigment the lacquers and spray nicely in thinned clear or white lacquer with near instant drying qualities. Always do this in well ventilated area!

So I have quart that is only about 1/10 full left. I've been hoarding it since the old DN went out, but was afraid to open it and risk curing the rest of what might have been my most valuable possession at the time. Anyway, I've been readin up on the S81 and the S82 new DN batches. For those of you that use these, do you like the water based? Is the water based as durable as the moisture cure after they are fully cured? How is the finish on the water based? Is the application any different? Does anyone use both? Is there a reason for me to get both? Also, does the new batch of moisture cure work like the old stuff or is there a learner curve to it too? Thanks in advance guys.
