  1. For me, the best way to see if it will work is to install the hook hangers and line tie, seal it all well, add the hooks, and take it for a test drive. Like littleriver said, the placement of the line tie is important. The longer the bill, the more it needs to be out on the bill, to give it enough leverage to control the lure's wiggle and not have the bill overpower the lure. But I don't have any kind of a formula for where to put the line tie. Mostly, I look at other lures of similar size and bill, and use them as a guide.

  2. i used to have that happen on broken back rebels walleye fishing and a few baits i have made did it to i found that by moving the front hook back just 1/4 to 1/2 inch will cure it in 99% of the cases on the rebels we just removed the front trebel hook

  3. Yea i seal them with a slightly thinned coat of etex, making sure it gets soaked in the pores. As for auto clear i might have to go that route. Im planning to sell a few and dont want any unhappy customers. Any suggestions on which brand or type of auto clear.
