  1. Hi there , folks , This time I'm smarter , ....thought of uploading this little picture compilation here in the tutorial section straightaway . I have uploaded these pictures in the forums quite a while ago , but these days I just got smarter with the computer(with the help of my dear daughter Andrea) , ....so I was able to put them out on video even together with a music track . Of course any upcoming questions will be answered , ..........greetz , diemai

  2. I just wanted to thank everyone that has helped me along the way with the process of building my hair jigs. Here was the first try without a vise, the vise comes in on Friday......please critique. More hair and shorten the hair?? Also the thread was a little lose compared to the front the jig head, I think I have to tie tighter. Painted, baked, head cemented, tied and whiped with some nice bucktail hair. I deceided to use the worse hair on the tail first for my first practice jigs. All in all I think it came out good, got the jig heads from a local friend that makes a great product with some nice mustad hooks. Here is the first photo:

  3. SHK- you seem have all the answers to operate an in-epensive soft-plastics bait business w/o custom CNC molds and exhaust systems for hand injecting. Free advertising-!!! .Amazing and impresive!! I pay the 10% excise tax since I live and work in the U.S.A. BTW- check your pay pal statements for their charge % of gross sales processed. You stated that air conditioning and heating is not necessary to produce baits.Really??- in my locale outside air temps range from upper 90's in the summer and winter lows of 5 degrees. I'll refrain from responding to any additional posts from you.

  4. just looking at your example there were plenty of ways to make it profitable, and it starts with buying in volume. instead of 5 gal of plastic at a time, shell out the initial investment and buy by the drum (doing just that i cut my plastic costs in half including shipping), buy colours in larger volumes (pints or quarts) flake by the pound, salt by the 80lb bag, scent by the gallon. if the business is there why not save some money.

  5. If you're worried about copying another person's bait, call them and ask if it's okay with them.

  6. Some of you on this site know who I am and what I do. For those of you who do not, let me introduce myself. My name is Jeff Klein from Lexington N.C. I am a guy with a dremel tool and a piece of sandpaper that makes "Flatsided Wooden" baits with painted on eyes and no detail. The way that I see it is Lobina saw a lure that caught his eye on the internet and tried to produce something like it for his own use. Then Some folks saw it and wanted some too. So what !! That describes most of the folks on this site. I started by trying to copy something that I thought was neat. I have chopped up custom baits, handmade baits, store bought baits, and baits that are no longer made to see how they were constructed and what made them tick. That is how I learned. Lobina stated that his baits were not a 100% true replica. If the guy wants to make and sell a few to get some of his money back so what. This guy is no threat to anyone. Lobina also stated that this was a hobby for him. However, Matt wanted to take this conversation to another level to include businesses that make baits for a profit. So Let's really get down to it. The bottom line for a business is not bassed on ethics. It is based on how much profit can be made. If you are going to play the ethics game in business you will get your head handed to you, Matt knows this. It is why he is seeking his patents. Size of the business does not matter either. Staying ahead of the competition does. Sad to say, but most people that run a business for profit are not as ethical as Douglas. If they can take a great idea that you have and make a profit out of it they will do it. I have had it done to me to. That doesn't make it right, but that's the way it is. Skeeter

  7. If you are trying to reproduce a plastic hollow body bait try and sacrifice a lure and split it down the center. then make a mold (pos. and neg.) of both left and right sides this is how I get a hollow plastic bait then add weight and rattles or what not I hope this vid helps it sure helped me
