I was looking for a particular mold for a friend of mine that was made specifically for pouring this type resin baits. Didn't want to modify or build a mold. That question has been answered so any conversation about modifying or building molds is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. One thing I've never understood about these message boards is why do people bother to read a particular post if all they want to do is gripe about it. Seems like there are much more productive ways to spend ones time. Maybe it should have been posted in the wire baits section. I've come to know quite a lot of folks here in hard baits and knew they would be helpful if at all possible. If posting this question in what some seem to consider is the wrong forum then sue me. I use a hi/low heat gun from Wagner. I vary the time over the heat according to the size of the jig head. I also haven't scortched a jig since I switched away from a propane torch to the heat gun. Even on hi, the heat gun takes 8-10 seconds to heat my 1/4 and 3/8 oz football jigs to the temp I like, so the powder melts and glosses. Maybe higher powered guns heat faster, but this works for me. I read here that people use their toaster ovens to preheat a lot of jig heads before they powdercoat, but I can't manage to get stuff out of a hot toaster oven without burning myself or dropping the jigs, or both, so I don't do it that way.

I think that was the thing to do. I like it a lot.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on making them? I have done searches on here and haven't found one. Thank you for the help!
