  1. I've ordered from Johnson bags twice in the past two years. 2 years ago they had a 15,000 minimum but you would receive 16,000 from the manufacturer. Last year they were able to reduce the minimum to 10,000 but you will receive 12,000 from the manufacturer. They use the +/- 20% rule. The printing plates also ran $200-$250 for each color but of course these can be used over and over again. Make sure your design is perfect so you don't have to re-make plates if you change your design down the road. Also, most bags like these are made in China and companies in the US are sourcing out the work. They do a great job but just be prepared to spend around $2500 on your first order.

  2. Yep. The main thing is to keep learning, have fun, and improve. The next is to share the learnings. I don't seek perfection just improvement. And if the lures catch a fish that's icing on the cake.

  3. If you're going to make a lot of baits, and want to do it fast, a few years back Hazmail (Pete) posted pictures of his rounding wheels. They are plywood discs mounted to a motor shaft, like a grinding wheel, but with a concave edge cut into the perimeter that he lined with sand paper. So he had a consistent curve he worked with. If you finish sand the profile of your bait and mark a centerline, you can do as Ben suggested and sand until the line is gone, and you'll have a symmetrical bait, or pretty darn close.

  4. This is the way. Build your self a 3x3 frame out of scrap wood. or what ever dimension you want. Next find some chicken wire that has small square holes...it doesnt have to be chicken wire..can be be some thing like a screen but with bigger holes. Place over frame and staple. with wire snips cut wires and bend out towards you creating a hook (45 angle). Hang blades and spray away. I used to paint production spinner blades for fishlander sportfishing. My racks could hold 225 blades. One hour and they were done!
