I have a few baits that I still fish that are over 10yrs old.

Well, I would get myself down to Walmart or order a new Microwave and use the 1 you just ruined for food for your lure building. Plastisol doesn't belong in food ....... grounds for the dog house if you are married. Also don't do this indoors. If you microwave too long you will have poisionous smoke throughout the house/apartment and a smell that will linger for a long time. If you don't have the proper space then don't do it. Buying lures is cheaper anyway unless you are making a ton of them.

Just draw up plastic and shoot. The other way just gives you bubbles in the plastic. You see when you draw up plastic it cools and solidifies almost immediately which give you particles of plastic that are not liquid. Also some injectors are made of a thicker tube so it take them longer to heat up. No matter who's injector you use you should be able to draw and shoot. As you do more it will heat up and become easier. Try and not use all the plastic as near the end it will be just a bunch of cooled plastic. If you watch any of my videos you will see my version. Just ordered the larger Squid mold from him via EBAY and he emailed me back asking if I wanted to add another larger cavity to the mold for a little extra $$. Of course I went for it as the 16oz jigs I make now are quite popular in my area as is the 16 and 24 oz bullet heads.. I emailed him about a vertical squid mold and he got back to me the next day with some options on eye placement and sizes. That was yesterday Just waiting for the final price quote based on what I told him I wanted.
