  1. If anyone out there makes home made molds with plaster of Paris and has a hard time getting their plastic to shine, I have a good tip. I design and make my own plastic lures and had a hard time finding something to make them shine. I tried everything that was suggested with not much luck. After you cure your plaster and I know this is going to sound weird but the thought hit me while I was at Walmart with my daughter as she was looking for fingernail polish. I picked up a bottle of hard as nails clear polish and coated the inside of the mold, after about 4-5 applications of it I had the shine I wanted. When I finally made my pour, the shine was awesome. I have been using the same molds for over a year and have had to only recoat one time....Just a thought I wanted to share with everyone....
