  2. So they do charge money for a copyright, another example of how a government rapes it's citizens for something that should be a right. Back to the point, very few things are worth patenting and I don't see the point unless it's something that will change the world. I've created some very ground breaking lures myself and I just couldn't justify the expense and effort to apply for a patent. In my case I focused all that energy and money into the product itself and made some great improvements.

  3. IMO MF has always been great people and more than willing to go out of their way to please the customer. Once again, it looks like Jeff has done just that. Therefore, I see no reason for this thread to continue. In the future, I would recommend private resolutions before publicly slandering any company on a public board. Thank you all for understanding.

  5. You know, you are right. I have no reason to complain about the US government becuase I'm not from the USA. If you feel the $35 is justified then it's all good.My opinion about our government is very different but that is becuase our government is beyond evil and it's something very few foreigners will understand, just like it's impossible for me to understand how you guys can actually trust your government. This is a classic example of how cultural differences and vastly different circumstances can cause misunderstandings. I'll rather not discuss this further, becuase I came to this forum becuase fishing makes me happy and it's one of the few things that keep my mind off the political uncertainty going on. We already need bullet proof vests to go fishing in some areas becuase this country is full of savages.

  6. Simply... Majority with unique lures they are seeking to patent have nothing unique. Any claims they have are bogus and will easily be dispelled. Unless you break into the tournament scene with the lure you will make little to no money. Other option is take up large adds in magazines about you lure being banned in tournaments and make money off that crowd of believers. You need to have the patent drawn up by a legit patent lawyer that will be honest with you about your creation. So many patents are complete junk. If you have a legit lure, that is the next big thing and a sound patent you will now need to have some money or a backer to pursue litigation threats and work out deals with bigger players. Finally the taxes/government ......you both are wrong.

  8. Mark that is a good trick and it works very well. I got tired of my $7 spinnerbaits breaking off like that and several times the fish swam away with the hook in its mouth and all I had was a wire and some blades. I tried the wire thing and never could keep it completely out of the way so I switched to using left over braided line. I just wrap it around the loop in the wire and glue the tag end down with Crazy glue as it comes with a brush in it. I have one spinnerbait that has been wrapped this way since early April. I threw it most every day when on my 3 week fishing trip in late April early May. It's still going strong and the braid hasn't come unwrapped. Smalljaw I have seen no change in its production. My partner has been using them without the braid and mine produce as well as his.

  9. Check out my post on homebrew tools. It has 3 different lure holders that insert into a foam noodle. You can also insert hooks directly into the foam. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/31513-high-volume-cheap-lure-turner-lure-holders/

  10. I think I understand what you're doing, and if I may ask, does it reduce the vibration of the bait? I know you are doing that to keep the wire form from opening up but it looks to me as it would seriously hamper vibration. I do love the punch stop idea for the knot, that is some great info right there.
