  1. Take a look at flush cutters made by Xuron. Amazon search will show some different ones and if you want to see all their cutters Xuron has its own web page. A word of caution on any flush cutter or sprue cutter you get. It’s a single purpose tool meant to cut your sprue flush and save you time and make a nice clean cut without adding steps like filing and sanding. Do not use them to cut off any extra lead that flashed around the hook eye by grabbing the hook just below the eye and twisting. Use some other cutter for that. Touching the hard steel of that hook with your cutters will mess them up over time. Treat them nice and they’ll last a long time.

  3. I live near Toronto Canada and we are limited to MF plastisol from a local supplier in my area because the shipping rates from the US as plastisol is considered hazardous are ground shipping only which take forever and cost a fortune. The MF plastic has not given me a problem whatsoever. The only gripe is that is stays pretty thick until it hits about 330 degrees. I've seen videos where Dead-on plastic is still nice and runny at around 300 degrees which would make it easier to work with for hand pouring. You might want to check them out. Personally I do mostly injection so the MF works fine.

  5. I don't know if the wire actually makes a big difference. What I like is the hook size and gap. They have a shorter shank and a big gap. The 3/0 has a hook gap of a 5/0 but the hook is just slightly longer than a regular 2/0. So I end up with a compact jig that has the hooking power of one much larger.

  7. This is just a guess but the body and sold metal ball bearings might be too much weight if that is a number3 blade. You might want to weight it and use the proper blade size?
