  1. Hello guys, I currently have a FDM 3d printer with PLS+ filament! I have create some master with the printer and now I don't know what material is the best for Plastisol resistance! I'm trying to make fishing lure mold resistent! So I'm looking for resin/silicon material. Someone know some store from EUROPE for buying this specific products? What about the resin, with the addition of aluminum powder? Is a release agent necessary for the resin? Thanks

  2. You can use porcelain paint. It comes as both paint and markers that may be good for dots. I use it on cast metal lures and cover with clear powder coat.

  3. There is another way, but it requires a steady hand and good nerves...LOL!!! Find the size straw with the diameter of the dots you want to make. About an inch or two up the straw make a kink and then wrap some masking tape around the kink to keep it closed. Once you have the straw ready push it into a jar of the powder paint you wish to use. Push it until the section of the straw is packed with powder and I mean packed!!! Now you have a paint dot, it will work but you only get a few dots before having to repack the straw again.

  4. I have ordered from Predator Baits a few times and like their quality. I have also had good luck with Dinger, Cedar Run and Shelt's. In case you did not see it, there is a pinned post at the top of the Hard Baits forum with a good list of blank lure suppliers. They each have a different selection of blanks. If you test blanks before you paint them, you should seal the line tie and hook hangers with a bit of superglue. Sometimes there are tiny holes that can let water in.

  5. I use 400 before and after, but I know some guys finish with 220. I just like a real smooth surface just in case I mold it and I don’t want to take off too much after applying the superglue cause I test in a pool before I paint.

  6. You might try Fishhead Custom Lures .... I have not personally bought any from him but he took over the best supplier I have found. If you do buy from him I would sure love to here how the quality and service are.

  7. I do this, and never have a problem. There's something in the Rustoleum Self Etching Primer that, as it says, etches the surface so my Createx paints bind really well.

  8. What is created paint? Heat your jigs with a Blow Dryer before you airbrush the primer on. (white paint) Heat before additional colors. I live in Southern California, heating my jigs before airbrushing helps a lot. .

  9. Wow, I have the same condition when it comes to people I don't like! - "you are - who?..." No doubt insurance and other expenses are high in most English speaking countries. If it wasn't for my and my wife's retirement and benefits, I don't believe we could afford to live in N.Y. Too bad the weather sucks for five months forcing me to make lures in the basement. Good thing pot was legalized. Just kidding.

  10. I am retired and cannot afford to live in UK, and the medical insurance would kill me in USA. Rent and food is very cheap here in Indonesia, the people are friendly and it is always summer. I am face blind (prosopagnosia) and here, I do not have to speak beyond 'hello' as I only speak enough of the language to get by, no conversations. For me, this is a perfect world. Dave

  11. This is correct. Unfortunately, with mail order it's simply not possible for us to make much, if any, profit on orders below $15. We run a very streamlined business, but even small orders have to pass through at least 2 to 3 people before they're out the door. Larger organizations can afford to simply take the hit on small orders (or they haven't done the analysis to determine if it's profitable), but we're small (around 15 employees) and plan on staying that way, so we have to be more diligent on issues such as this. We recognize this is frustrating, but we do try to be upfront and honest about it. We're also always looking for ways to better serve all of you, so if we can identify a way to fulfill smaller orders without losing money on every one, we'll certainly make it an option. Matt Barlow
