  1. I use CA glue on my 3d printed lures as well, it buys me a couple of things, FDM prints are not water tight, it hides most of the layer lines and it make the plastic easier to sand. I think it also affects the temp where it the lure should warp, but I think the top coat of epoxy plays a part too.

  2. Lately I have been mixing it up and so far it appears to be working. I apply superglue to drill holes and joint cut outs because it penetrates so well, then coat the rest in polyurethane.

  3. The only problem I see using scent is that it takes a while for it to diffuse into the water whether the lure is still or moving and even less when it is oil based. Attacking a lure and holding on longer are claims scent advocates insist are factual and maybe so for vertical presentations, but in my case I always cast and retrieve horizontally to cover water. My shapes and action designs are the only thing I have confidence in even at the slowest retrieve.
