We will be performing a site upgrade through Sat, Aug 27th. and Sun. Aug. 28th.
This is an attempt to correct increasing login issues with members who have their password reset or emailed to them and seem to get stuck in a perpetual verification loop.
The maintenance will require a software upgrade which also requires a new "skin" so the look and feel will change but we plan to emulate what we currently have and plan to keep the changes minimal.
Any comment or questions, feel free to contact me directly.

additional image:
LurePartsOnline has unveiled their new SwimTails™ trailer!

The new SwimTails™ trailer looks to be an effective component for quick & painless color combo's and easily upgrades your spins & jigs. The durable silicone construction should allow for a wide range of applications to add to your arsenal.
LPO offers seven standard colors. New colors will be released this summer according to LPO chief Ron Stevens. “Due to the initial success, we already have new color combinations in the works. We’re very excited about where this could go – the possibilities are endless. We’re also hoping to add more sizes, including a magnum size for muskie and northern baits.”

Interesting information, for more, log onto LurePartsOnline.com, or call 800-546-8922 to speak to a rep. Tell em you found it on TackleUnderground!

New! TU Glossary

By redg8r, in Site Updates,

A few of us members recently collaborated on a new feature for the site
TU Glossary Just by typing frequently used terms & abbreviations such as, pop , dinp , d2t , etc. They will be recognized by the site and automatically linked to their respective definitions in the new glossary, providing a quick reference for new & veteran members alike.
These reference links are retroactive, meaning they work in all previous topics.
You can help expand and improve this glossary by editing any existing records and by adding more terms to the database yourself.
A big Thank You to members Rayburnguy & Vodkaman for compiling the first 100+ terms for us all, Thank You Gentlemen!
Note, not all terms are autolinked, but we'll make sure the most obscure ones get placed.

A New Year - A New Look

By redg8r, in Site Updates,

A quick preview of a well deserved & overdue update to the TackleUnderground website.
The blue & gold pays homage to the way the site looked almost a decade ago. Those of you familiar with the wayback machine can have a look if you have time to burn & like a stroll down memory lane, (or a good laugh, perhaps).
The change should take effect in the next day or two, simply be aware.
A few small notes worth mentioning is that this update will temporarily remove a couple features and improve others:
The "Status Updates" feature will be temporarily removed until it can be reimplemented site-wide. Chat (shoutbox) will be down and soon replaced with an improved (actual) chatroom. More on that later. The site navigation menu will be changed to condense links and improve overall navigation. Any comments or concerns are always welcome.

New Topic Confirmation

By redg8r, in Site Updates,

Members posting new topics specifically in the luremaking forums will notice a "confirmation" screen you must click to continue onto the new topic form.
This has been put in place as a stop-gap measure to prevent unintentional misuse of these particular forums. Most notably, those new users who join and post lure photos in the tech discussion forums, before realizing we have a dedicated gallery in place for their uploading pleasure.
If the problem subsides over time, we may remove the confirmation screen. Thanks.

Our ever growing member submitted classified ads section now has a dedicated section located HERE.
Registered members are free to list items for sale, unload unwanted and used products, or create a wish-list of items you need to hone that perfect fish catcher!
Previously hosted in our forums, it's popularity calls for a dedicated spot here on TU.
The new area is purposely small and direct, offering a simple "For Sale" & "Wanted" section.
We look to expand categories and maintain it according to user feedback so if you have any input, feel free to reply with suggestions.
